Evergreen Architecture’s founder, Sisia Daglian, is a former city regulatory and zoning official who has worked extensively in design-build construction. Sisia and our team have a results-oriented approach, using our in-depth knowledge of building codes and regulatory approvals to steer projects to success with local jurisdictions. We nurture active connections with contractors and tradesmen to iron out the construction process, because even the greatest design intentions fall flat without attention to mundane details. Years of working successfully through numerous adaptive reuse projects — where existing construction conditions can turn out to be quite different from what appear on plans — have honed our strengths in design and project management of diverse building types. As your project’s champion, we bring enthusiasm, vigor and a spirit of partnership to every assignment to build you a great team.

Sisia Daglian founded Evergreen Architecture after more than twenty years leading the design of distinguished buildings and spaces for premier institutions in the metro Boston area, with an emphasis on institutional and commercial projects. She integrates ecological sustainable design and research into improving wellbeing with results-oriented project management. This produces architecture with a high quality of life. Sisia collaborates with builders and engineers alike to find elegant, cost-effective solutions for Evergreen’s clients, and she structures Evergreen Architecture’s project management services to ease the burden of design and construction on owners. As a certified building official who has worked in city administration, Sisia has exceptional skills in planning and regulatory approvals.

Sisia became an architect to make places that are intellectually and emotionally fulfilling. She orders and vivifies space to enhance the richness of interactions that take place within. Sisia brings thoughtfulness, pragmatic rigor, and empathy to every assignment, large or small. She takes delight in the broad and varied nature of architecture, knowing the right moment to look at problems from above, when to drill down into the details, and how to shift between these viewpoints during a single discussion.

Tagore Hernandez is classically trained — first as a woodworker and subsequently as an architect. Tagore has been a maker for decades, with an overriding passion for good design. His professional career has spanned a wide range of work, from large scale commercial architectural design to theatrical set design. He has 25 years of hands-on experience with almost every aspect of construction, from site work to finishes. He is a certified Passive House consultant, a proficient energy modeler, and construction manager of high performance residential structures, including pre-fabricated and panelized methods. Tagore has served as our technical director since 2021. He oversees building envelope and building systems integration for our projects.
